Simon Clough – Managing Director – Formulated Products Business Unit

Professional:

Following Aesica’s acquisition of three European sites in early 2011, Simon was appointed Managing Director, Formulated Products Business Unit, and is now based at the Monheim site, Germany.

Simon moved to Aesica’s head office having been the Site Operations Director at the Queenborough site from 2007 to 2010. At Queenborough he delivered site expense reduction of £8M (24 per cent) in 2.5 years through implementation of Lean Sigma practices yielding sustainable efficiency gains in ways of working and process reliability.

Before joining Aesica Simon held a number of roles within Abbott’s Operations for UK Formulated Products Division and prior to this he worked for GSK within Quality, Supply Chain, Third Party Management & Operations for Formulated Products.

Qualifications:

  • BSc (Hons) in Applied Chemistry from Nottingham.
  • Registered Qualified Person having satisfied the permanent provisions of 2001/83/EC and 2001/82/EC in 2007.
  • Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC).

At Aesica:

  • As Managing Director of the Formulated Products Business Unit, Simon provides strategic direction for the business unit and is responsible for managing business development with existing clients, introduction of new business and fulfilling client and stakeholder demands and expectations.
  • He is also responsible for expanding Aesica’s portfolio and service offering within the Controlled Drugs sector for both API and Formulated Products.
